From the time she was born, Treasure Ozoazoghene Obibi was a delight and a source of constant joy to her parents. That was until sickness reared its ugly head in her life. How does one describe what a parent goes through, watching their child's life slowly ebb away right before their eyes? For the Obibis, it was traumatic, to say the least.
“In June 2009, our daughter became sick with malaria. She exhibited symptoms such as cough, loss of appetite and gradual loss of weight,” narrated her father, Pastor Wealth Obibi. “By this time, she was six years old and had never had any sickness of this kind.”
Then, the hospital trips began. She was treated for malaria and cough initially, but later on, she was diagnosed with pneumonia and immediately treated for that condition. However, Treasure didn't get better; instead, she grew worse. She was constantly in and out of different hospitals; she would get well for a short while , and later be admitted in hospital again. This went on for three months non-stop; from July to September 2009. “By September, when her school resumed for a new academic year, it was obvious that she wouldn't return to school as her health had seriously deteriorated.”
At this time, she'd lost so much weight and was gradually becoming skeletal. It was disheartening to look at her; people cast pitiful glances at her. Her father recalled, “She couldn't eat, yet she had to take so many drugs; it was so bad that we got tired of buying and giving her drugs. The worst part of it was that she constantly vomited the little food we compelled her to eat and drugs we gave her.”

The worst part of it was that she constantly vomited the little food we compelled her to eat and drugs we gave her.”
Her parents had never faced this situation before, yet they knew they had to do something critical to save her, and fast. “At this point, we started declaring God's Word upon her; but the more we made declarations, the more speedily her health seemed to deteriorate. Ezekiel 37 became our strong word of prophecy because she had become like a dry bone; we had to keep looking at her past pictures to remind us of who she truly was. We continued with prayers, sowing seeds and making confessions; that she will not die, but live to sing to the Lord, because she loves singing to God.”
By November 2009, Treasure had gone through months of taking medications and blood transfusions without any significant improvement. Complicating matters, locating a vein for intravenous medication was a very big problem.“There's nothing more we can do for her,” one of the doctors handling her case said. Treasure was then discharged from the hospital.
She was sick and gaunt. In addition, she'd lost her memory completely. She couldn't recognize her parents or any other person she'd known. Also, she could no longer communicate effectively. She'd only utter the word, “Water,” and then, fall silent.
Even though it was medically concluded that there was no hope for her recovery, her parents never lost hope. Instead, they remained fixated on God and His Word concerning their daughter.
“We decided to make a special connection through our partnership with the Healing School. As soon as we did, for the first time in four months, our daughter ate! We rejoiced, for this was a great miracle!”
“All of a sudden, her appetite for food was fully restored, and she began to put on weight. In just one month, we testified; more of screamed, 'Look what the Lord has done!' It was so marvelous in our eyes; she added flesh to her body, and the dry bones rose again!”
In their rejoicing, they realized how severe her memory loss was, as she still didn't recognize people she knew. “We continued in faith and prayers, holding on to the rhema word that we received. Two weeks later, precisely on the 23rd of December 2009, her memory suddenly returned and she identified people she formerly couldn't recognize! Tears rolled down our eyes at the mighty restoration of our daughter's health and life.”
Joy and gladness are back in the Obibi family. As her parents have said, “Treasure has gone from being a child on the brink of death to one full of health and life.” They're amazed at what God has done for them: every trace of infirmity has disappeared from her body and mind. Also, the huge medicals bills incurred when she was ill were miraculously settled. Today, she's well and back to school, doing better than ever. No one but God could have performed that miracle on her!
Her parents are thankful to God for their partnership with the Healing School. “We'd like to point out here that there's power in Healing School partnership. It was Treasure’s partnership that kept her alive, healed her and gave her a new reason to live and sing to the Lord!”
